Michel Mirabal
Michel Mirabal (Cuban, 1974) is a popular young artist, graduated from the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts San Alejandro in Havana. His collectors include The Rockefeller family, the business magnate Donald Trump and the guitarist Carlos Santana, The former president of Cuba Fidel Castro and The President of Haiti Rene Preval, the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali and the journalist and Colombian novelist Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Obviously they all have very fine taste!
Michel Mirabal’s art is permanently displayed at the Contemporary Art Museum of Rome and has been exhibited widely in Cuba, France, Spain and U.S.
He has gained a unique reputation from his series of paintings ‘Banderas’ and ‘Las calles de mi ciudad’.
In Cuba his work is widely acknowledged and Cuban musicians have dedicated songs to him such as ‘La bandera cubana- como tu no hay dos’ by the revolutionary underground Rap Cubano group Los Aldeanos.
